Monday Mood Board #7

Wonders of the World

We cannot start talking about all the natural wonders of the world without a shout out to WONDER WOMAN!  I mean; c’mon on….what girl did not want to embody the image of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman?   So having said that, I don’t know very much about the new move (not starring Lynda Carter) but I’m willing to go see it with my sis.  Because WW gets things done.

It’s never too late to start a mantra!

There must always be something to celebrate – how about just living?

This is an older photo from my scuba days in Jamaica.  I wore stripes so that the angel fish would think I was one of them.  But they knew I was no Angel fish.

Monument Valley, Arizona must be one of the most natural spiritual settings on earth.  I took this photo on one of our camping trips.

These are somewhat thought out random posts.  Because like you, my mood always changes!  Welcome to the week.

Feel-good Friday: It’s here!

SUMMER has officially arrived in all its sunny glory.  Here is how I celebrated the very first day.

Not exactly diving into the first day but still enjoying the pool and wondering where have all the ducks gone?

A girly get together for another birthday celebration. L-R Sylvain, Louise #2, Rosa, Louise #1 (birthday girl), hostess Colleen (in her stunning  garden).

Rosa & Jia Jia.  I’m so relieved he didn’t jump fall into the pool like he once did in Las Vegas.

Louise, Colleen, mango cake & local strawberries

Shady Lady Selfie (RAEN, LA Durante Sunglasses from Summer Box of Style; yeah! – gotta get my plug in)

How did you celebrate?

Feel-good Friday: bien sur!

Another French Lesson courtesy ofparis3

I don’t know any better way to practice my French other than taking little tips from My Little Paris, a crazy fun blog  and way more French than mine will ever be.  It brings a smile to mon visage every time they post. And girls; OUI just want to have fun.  Oops; better brush up on my waist, I’m behind  (or above depending how you look at it) a few inches.

Fyi: fun is fun in French too.

Feel-Lucky Friday

The half-Irish in me

Enjoying a local beer & a box of chocolate covered gummy bears (talk about luck; they now come in a convenient candy package) in a comfy reclining chair at the Pickford Theatre.

Bad St. Paddys Day Jokes:

“This is the one day of the year where green’s meaning shifts from saving the environment to polluting our major organs.”

“St. Patricks day is like Valentines day for those who love Jameson (whiskey) and bad decisions.”

“It’s also the one holiday where full-blown alcoholism could possibly go undetected.”

My favourite: “An Irish guy walks out of a bar….No; really, it can happen!”

Green Light Ahead.  I’m going for it!

Enjoy the day even if you’re not even part Irish!

Feel-good Friday: Doggone it!

It’s time to let the mouse out of the bagjack1

Jack celebrated seven years of age on February 7th and It’s been two years since he moved away from Thailand.  He wanted to share some feel-good photos with you.20170207_144801

He loves to go shopping. His favorite grocery aisle is the meat department.

And then he loves to rest after a busy day...usually on my pj's.

He chose this dish towel for me.

He chose this dish towel for me as an early Valentines Day Gift.  Oh, how sweet!

YEAH!

Do you know what I’m talking about?

Feel-good Friday: let the parties begin

Wow…can you believe we’re into December already?  There’s something festive in the air as we get ready for Christmas and the New Year.

It’s PARTY SEASON!

Santa Paws at Tisol, Vancouver. Jia Jia was good all year. Me; not so much!

I love this Phyllis Diller (remember her?) quote. “What I don’t like about office parties is looking for a job the next day.”  Good thing I don’t have a job!

Office parties are starting as early as November now as restaurants get booked up fast.  I started celebrating a month ago last night when six on my building council got together for a rowdy celebratory non-silent night for dinner and live jazz. And this time everyone behaved!  And there’s only more to follow including back-to-back get togethers with friends and neighbours, dance parties and another fundraising gala (more on that later).  Oh, and Stevie Nicks.  Okay, it’s not a dinner but she’s amazing…still.

It’s a time to be especially nice to people you otherwise ignore the rest of the year.  But all kidding aside, it can be a lonely time too for people without family, or the homeless, etc. And it’s a time to put aside rifts and nonsense and look at the good in people (because nobody is perfect).  It’s time to spread the CHEER!  lit1

I hope you have a Happy Holiday Season!  XO

Feel-good Friday: Global Warning

Oh those poor men – they often don’t know what hit them.

If women came with warning labels….. warninglabel4 I may or may not kill you.  If I don’t F….you then at least I’ll F…with your head!warninglabel6

Because I’m worth ALL the trouble
warninglabel5what would your warning label be?

Me? Sorry; someone tore mine off when I was born.

Men seem to like it when we’re being a little nasty.

HERE’S TO NASTY WOMEN EVERYWHERE!

Always read the fine print!

“The spider’s web: She finds an innocuous corner in which to spin her web. The longer the web takes, the more fabulous its construction. She has no need to chase. She sits quietly, her patience a consummate force; she waits for her prey to come to her on their own, and then she ensnares them, injects them with venom, rendering them unable to escape. Spiders – so needed and yet so misunderstood.” – Donna Lynn Hope

Feel-good Friday: meet my new love

He’s black, he’s bright, he’s shiny and he’s brand spanking new. I like that he’s in touch with his feminine side.  Unfortunately this will only be a fair weather romance because he doesn’t like to get too wet or too cold, pay for parking or buy me things. But people have said we look good together.scooter6

We’ll enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.

There were two others before him. Someone stole my last love while I was sleeping so I was keeping my eyes open for a replacement. And the previous one that I was keeping on the side was getting too old so I finally dumped him. He held vintage charm but was set in his ways and I had a hard time controlling him.

So with this new one I didn’t even look around – he was the first thing I saw.  I didn’t think I would consider his type but when I spotted him looking so fine in the shop –  that was it.  I said hey, we belong together. When you know, you know. scooter7

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the ride.  Remember not to carry too much baggage.scooter5Now I’ve got to find something on the side…..(for my dog)

Feel-good Friday: when there’s rain…

…there’s Rainbows

Lucky Dog!

Lucky Dog!

Jack, staring out his living room window is thinking one of three things:  Where did my humans disappear to?  What will I eat for dinner? Are there really rabbits, squirrels and mice at the end of the rainbow ? (as told to him by his mother as a young pup).

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what’s on the other side
Rainbows are visions
But only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide

All of us under its spell, we know that it’s probably magic

I’m a big kid at heart.  I love this song performed by John Legend, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy (another style icon), and Queen Latifah.  It is definitely Feel-Good.

On another Feel-good note:  The many faces of Carol Burnett.

carol1carol3I’m so glad we had this time together.  Fond memories of simpler times and fun clean comedy.

Tomorrow I’m really excited to see Carol Burnett at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Vancouver.  I have no idea what she’s going to do but that’s okay, she can just stand there for all I care.  I loved watching her Acceptance Speech for a well deserved Life Time Achievement at SAG Awards 2016.  If you haven’t seen it and you’re a fan you should google it.

I vividly remember watching the Carol Burnett show with my family and grandparents. I had the pleasure of meeting Harvey Korman when I was called to work on another popular TV series while living in Tokyo.  He was a regular on Carol Burnett and as suspected he was extremely pleasant.  When doing their live TV skits the cast tried hard not to make each other laugh but always ended up cracking each other up. They didn’t care so much about being overly slick. Show is SOLD OUT!
