**I will on occasion do other beautyproduct reviews that are not necessarily mineral based or from this company so when I endorse something from my website it’s because I really believe in it – that it works on a personal level so that I can comfortably recommend them. There’s so much out there but for natural, mineral makeup that actually stays put and feels good this is it ladies. Link below:
Because I always thought that great Style has No Size. Go Figure – you don’t have to be Twiggy to be stylish.
I think attitude has a lot to do with it too. Kate Moss might say “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” but I think it should be “nothing feels as good as feeling good about yourself.” Let’s have a look at some stunningly SEXY….smallish PLUS sized ladies comfortable in their own skin who can give any of us a run for our money in the style “with attitude” department.
I would curtsy to the “Queen” herself. Photo from Images.
Of course there’s a PLUS side to being thin in the advantage that clothes drape well on smaller sized bodies. That’s why almost every model you see strutting down the runway is stick thin (except for Giselle who has an amazingly toned body). But that doesn’t make you a stylish person. It makes you a fashion(able) person.
Amazing Adele – rocking a beautiful dress at the Grammys.
So could skinny finally be on its way out? Realistically, no.
Even Supermodel Lara Stone who is, by normal standards, very slim, admitted: “A lot of people say it’s nice to see someone who won’t break in half when you touch them. But I am still a woman and a person, and if you’re compared and confronted with your colleagues and they’re half you size you think, “F***, I’m really fat!”’
But is seems that the fashion world is slowly making progress by beginning to accept more varied body shapes (it’s about time – women come in all shapes & sizes), and that there remains plenty of opportunity to embrace women that really look like women.
This recipe came about while on a camping trip to Canada’s East Coast including Newfoundland. The East Coast is known for its fresh local seafood and particularly chowder. It started off as a seafood only trip as we were sampling the best all over the Maritimes. Scallops & Clams in Digby, Lobster in P.E.I. & Nova Scotia and chowders everywhere.
I wanted to make a chowder with some nice fresh Cod we bought from a local fishing boat in Newfoundland but keep it simple and still have the consistency and flavor of a hearty meal. We camp in a Eurovan not a tent and have two stove top burners. You have to be somewhat creative. So while this is cheating with adding the can of prepared soup, don’t laugh because you’ll find it pretty close to an original without a whole lot of work. It only takes about 10 minutes. This serves two for a meal (along with fresh bread) or four as an appetizer. Looks like the real deal and tastes very close – well we thought so.
Instructions:
Put a 10 oz (284 ml) can of condensedcream of potato soup (I used Campbell’s) into a medium size pot. Heat gently.
Add ¾ cup (175 ml) of milk (whole or skim) & stir until smooth.
Add 1 chopped celery stalk
Two diced plum tomatoes
Pinches of Tarragon or Oregano (I used both)
*You can add 1 Tbsp. of butter and a little dry white wine (optional)
Simmer, covered for about 5 minutes or longer depending on how crisp you like the celery.
Then add 1 lb. (500g) fresh cod, halibut or any white fish fillets (or a combo of) that tend not to fall apart, cut into chunks. Cook until done – about 5 minutes uncovered. Garnish with Tarragon leaves. Season to taste. Hope you enjoy this condensed (pun intended) version of the real thing.
This is a *glamping tested recipe. When we do not stay in hotels with spas we *glamp on occasion which is campingwithflair.
SUPER, Natural British Columbia (the ads say this). Vancouver is a cultured city and marijuana is a BIG part of our culture. On Saturday we celebrated (in the best way we know how) an event called 4/20 Vancouver but I only went to LOOK, that’s all.A lazy, hazy Saturday afternoon so what’s a girl to do? AndIf you didn’t know exactly where you were going once downtown you could just follow your nose. Also a great way to catch up with many friends and acquaintances you haven’t seen for a while. Well if you missed it there’s always next year.

What is it ABOUT?
Every year on April 20, thousands of people gather on the north side of the Vancouver Art Gallery to celebrate the marijuana culture. This year’s celebration took place on a Saturday with record breaking crowds in the neighborhood of 20,000 but it was hard to tell exactly with all the smoke in the air.
The very first celebration in this town was held in 1995. Each year 10,000 to 15,000 people actively participate (ha, the magic word) in this event, making it one of the, if not thelargest 420 celebrations in North America. The food trucks were smart and got set up in droves around this event. But many brought their own munchies. Next year I plan to have a little kiosk selling cookie dough and potato chips and think I’ll do just fine.
THEN SUNDAY……
I ran the Vancouver Sun Run. Many people registered at the last minute that weren’t originally intending to run in support of what happened in Boston and so the theme colors were that of the Boston flag – Yellow & Blue. There must have been about 50,000 people.
Just before the START – Georgia & Burrard.
The Vancouver SunRunis Canada’slargest runningevent.
If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions? – Scott Adams.

Brain Waves – the purpose to keeping brain function strong.
Thebrain…one of the largest and most complex organs in the human body, made up of more than 100 billion nerves that communicate in trillions of connections called synapses.
When people start to experience forgetfulness (what did you just say?), free radicals (those little suckers) may be the cause. Neurologist David Perlmutter, the author of “Power Up Your” Brain (Hay House) says this is the case. These by-products of processes as basic and vital as breathing hurt the structure of cells. “When your brain cells become damaged, your brain kills them off. Nobody can afford the results,” says Perlmutter.
“Certain foods can help by triggering the brain to make antioxidants, which protect healthy cells from harm,” and at levels far greater than you can achieve with supplements,” he says. Add green tea, omega-3 fatty acids, broccoli, tumeric, and garlic to your diet, and exercise regularly, Perlmutter suggests.

The below was taken (slightly condensed) from a blog I follow – GaranceDoré. She’s an amazing illustrator & photographer who hangs with the fashion crowd. Originally from France, she now makes her home in New York City and blogs mostly about….you guessed it – fashion. Her “Pardon myFrench” videos are very entertaining and her interviews have included established designers such as Stella McCartney & Diane Von Furstenburg. There’s no doubt in my mind that if I lived in New York I would be stalking her we would become best of friends. Her photographs and video clips of any fashion week will make you feel like you’re a little jealous part of it. Aaaagh! I couldn’t say it bettermyself therefore.….

Whilediscussing friends one day at the studio she and her team came up with the following conclusions…
1 –You don’t need to have a plan when you get together with a friend.
You don’t need to have a party, an activity, or brunch you’re supposed to go to together. You can see a friend with nothing on the agenda, just wanting to get together and decide what you’ll do after.
2 –A true friend:
… Doesn’t judge you, but also has the right to not approve of your full body tattoo.
… Is ready to drop everything she’s doing and come to your rescue if you have an emergency, but also knows when to tell you when you’re overreacting.
… Has the right to be pissed at you when you overreact, but not for too long.
3 – A true friend:
… Doesn’t make a move on your ex.
… Doesn’t make a move on your boyfriend!!! (even crypto-moves).
… Doesn’t steal your friends!!! (Unless you encourage her to do so).
… Doesn’t lie to you.
4 – With FriendsYou Don’t Have to Prove Anything to (which is the essence of true friendship, by the way).
Best thing to do with friends, the international renown crème de la crème friend activity: Party the night before and spend the morning after having tea and recapping all the night’s events.
5 – A true friend would say…
“Yeah, okay, maybe you’re right. You’ve gained a few. We’ll stop our Ben & Jerry’s x couch parties for three months.”
“You look amazing in that photo!”
“That outfit just doesn’t work on you.”
“I saw your man with another woman.” OR
“Your boyfriend is amazing. Stop creating stuff in your head.”
6 –Sign that it’s a true friendship:
Your friend is with some people who are magnificently cooler or amazingly more important than you (yeah, it happens)(all the time in New York) and introduces you as if you’re the greatest thing since Mac and Cheese.
7 –Some friendshipsdie, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t beautiful and true.
8 –Stupid Problems that can Kill a Friendship if not Kept in Check:
Jealousy: Jealousy stems from desire. Before you hate someone because she has everything you want, you usually start by loving her from everything she has. Keep yourself in check.
Money: In friendships, as in love, everyone gives what they can, whether that be affection, money, intelligence, experience, contacts, what ever it is… You have to be generous, and let others be generous too, even if it’s just paying for coffee.
Distance: You have to pick up the phone and call. Skype, text, whatever it is. I’m the worst at this and I can’t even get it together to respond to e-mails. Friendships have suffered… That said, I’d never hold it against a friend if they are too busy and don’t have time to call – I know they are busy, I don’t think they are forgetting me… Which maybe explains my behavior. But I know, it’s not enough.
9 –Sign of a true friendship: After three minutes of no one saying anything in a conversation, no one feels embarrassed.
10 –Unidirectional Friendships, A Problem More Frequent Than You Think.
Asking, “how are things for you?” (+ 15 minutes listening without checking your Twitter feed) is not a superfluous act.
11 –Some profound friendships can be formed in three minutes, other superficial ones can take years.
12 –With a true friend, you can be completely yourself.
You don’t need to be the girl who’s “cool with tons of friends, a great job and an awesome boyfriend, wahoooo!” You’re just you.
13 – Sign of a true friendship: Even after not seeing each other for three years, you feel like you’re picking up a conversation you didn’t quite finish the day before.
14 –Sign of a true friendship: after 35 years of friendship, you still laugh together like teenagers (my mom and her best friend, so awesome).
That’s all for now! There are many other things (including a theory on my living vicariously through Garance jealousy) – but for the moment, that’s what appeared to us as the base of the base of the base. Big kissesmy friends!
WAIT, wait! I want to feel a little bit like the team so I came up with a few of my own: A true friend…
1) Will let go of SNL misunderstandings (silly, nonsensical, little) .
2) Won’t drain you with listening to “only” their problems/issues for hours on end.
3) Know that intentions are always well meant.
4) Accept your flaws and celebrate your fabulousness.
5) Accept you moving on if #’s 1-4 don’t really matter (but hoping they matter).
6) Above all must love watching Chelsea Lately.
The PERFECT friend: Funny,Real, Intelligent,Empathetic,Not too Needy, Divine.

It’s a print pattern that dates back to ancient times, appearing on fabrics all around the world.
The Beatles popularized it as psychedelic on their 1968 pilgrimage to India, where it was everywhere, but in fact paisley derives from the “town of Paisley”, in central Scotland, a centre for textiles where paisley designs first were produced.
The New Oxford Dictionary defines paisley as ‘a distinctive intricate pattern of curved, feather-shaped figures based on a pine cone design from India‘ .
While many people may dislike paisley, the new look of this pattern with different style and color combinations works winningly for everyone. The current paisley is vibrant and epitomizes spring with its lush colors.
Whatever its origin, wearing curlicued teardrops makes a woman or man stand out wherever they go.
It’s nice to know some things never change….or maybe change if only slightly.
Many celebrities took to the Internet yesterday in response to the Boston Marathontragedy, but it was comedian *Patton Oswalt who seemed to strike the biggest chord.
On Monday, Oswalt took to Facebook to post his reaction to the bombings. His thoughtful and beautifully written message has been “liked” more than 260,000 times and shared nearly as much. So I’m sharing it again just in case you were not one of the many who read it. I find it quite touching.
After noting the “darkness” of the tragedy, Oswalt wrote, “The vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We’d have eaten ourselves alive long ago.”
As he did in a tweet earlier in the day, Oswalt noted, “You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out.”
He concluded on an uplifting note, stating, “So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, ‘The good outnumber you, and we always will.‘”
*You may not know Oswalt by name, but the 44-year-old comedian just happened to be the voice behind Remy in “Ratatouille” and also starred as nerd Spencer Olchin in “The King of Queens.” And apparently he has a knack for writing, too.
